ZyXEL MWR222, Pocket-sized Portable WiFi Router with 3G/4G Connectivity

Many manufacturer developed portable router that can share 4G conectivity to WiFi-enabled device such as notebook, iPod Touch, game console, printer etc.

The most popular is intebro’s Egg which has known as Wibro Egg, Yota Egg and UQ WiMAX “EGG”(iWWR-1000J) with white and pink color option

Recently ZyXEL announced the MWR222, a pocket-sized portable device that equipped with 802.11n standard compatible WiFi router with data transfer rate up to 150 Mbps.  This router supports a wired DSL/cable connection and mobile broadband 3G/4G (WiMAX/LTE) connectivity for a true, always-on, anywhere connection.

The MWR222 offers dual ethernet and dual USB ports to support the latest wireless devices and energy efficient WiFi sensors.Built-in bandwidth monitor which can send alerts when a quota is reached to help users avoid overage fees.

The MWR222 available with a rechargeable battery than can stay on for two hours of operation when power is interrupted or use on the go / away from main.

ZyXEL expected to launch MWR222 in Q1 2010 with $299.99 MSRP.

Is MWR222 worth to buy ? Because it is more expensive compare to Yota Egg ($200).
