Alvarion BreezeMAX Macro Outdoor Base Station Earns WiMAX Forum Certification
WiMAXian last post featured about Airspan MacroMAXe which received WiMAX Forum Certification.
Recently Alvarion BreezeMAX Macro Outdoor Base Station also earns WiMAX Forum Certification for both 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz frequency bands.
Alvarion claimed as the largest WiMAX pure-player with the most extensive WiMAX customer base and over 250 commercial deployments worldwide included 2.5GHz mobile WiMAX nationwide in Burkina Faso and also 3.5GHz mobile WiMAX nationwide in Italy.
“The emerging markets including India and Indonesia are expected to play a key role in lifting the industry in 2010 said Udi Shaked, managing director of Alvarion Asia Pacific to Digitimes last week.
In India, Alvarion is teaming up with potential WiMAX operators to bid for the three WiMAX licenses to be released by the government before the end of 2009, Shaked added.
On the other hand Alvarion has begun cooperating with some of the winning licensees to establish their WiMAX networks in Indonesia said Shaked.
Alvarion boasted as the founder of WiMAX industry which recently joined Ecosystem to build and trial WiMAX Release 2 based on the IEEE 802.16m standard.
With commitment in WiMAX deployment,Alvarion has also been working on WiMAX-based smart-grid devices that can help a utility regulate power and stop a power supply in the event of an emergency.

With the same reason Alvarion developed BreezeMAX Macro Outdoor base station which is a new carrier-class product that is compact in size and supports advanced mobility features such as handoffs, HARQ, Re-use 1 and 4×4 RF diversity.

The new base station, which is part of Alvarion’s end-to-end 4Motion Mobile WiMAX™ solution, optimizes the installation space with a small lightweight form-factor that eliminates the need of an outdoor enclosure or cabinet. This product introduces an environmentally friendly weatherized system, avoiding the use of air-conditioning units, shelters and cabinets, while operating the system in extreme weather conditions.
“Alvarion has demonstrated again its commitment to WiMAX technology by expanding the portfolio of certified products with new base stations for outdoor applications.” according to Luis Fernando Martinez, general manager of AT4 Wireless, a leader in wireless network, services and devices testing.
