WIRELESS JAPAN 2009 : WiMAX Highlights Photos
Last month WiMAXian featured WiMAX at INTEROP TOKYO 2009 and recently there was another big event in Japan, WIRELESS JAPAN 2009, which was held on July 22 – 24 at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center), East Hall 4&5.WIRELESS JAPAN 2009 presented the recent information of the technology,service, and solution for the broadband wireless market from the point of “Sales & Marketing” , “R&D” and Engineering.
Covered up various topics including WiMAX and Next Generation of PHS service (XGP). Also the other mobile broadband technologies such as LTE and UMB.

UQ Communications showcased its high-speed mobile broadband communications service called “UQ WiMAX,” which debuted commercially in July.UQ hosted a booth to invite visitors to experience hands-on the high-speed broadband internet connectivity and ease of use of UQ WiMAX.

UQ WiMAX diplayed its WiMAX USB dongle line up, WiMAX-enabled notebook supported by Intel, and Clarion MiND NR1U WiMAX-enabled Mobile Internet Navigation (prototype).

In addition UQ WiMAX displayed the SWiM-50, WiMAX module from Sumitomo Electric Networks.

And the NEC Aterm W3200U USB WiMAX dongle which has driver for Linux OS Moblin.
Unfortunately UQ WiMAX did’nt showcased the long-waited Sony Vaio Type P WiMAX-enabled netbook but only Sony Vaio Type Z.

UQ WiMAX also demonstrated live video streaming from camera mounted on the car around Akihabara and Odaiba district. The video streaming was smooth over WiMAX network and utilized Google Map also.
