CLEAR Official Launch WiMAX in Las Vegas : Confirmed for Mac OS X Driver and Samsung Mondi
Just last month, Clearwire launched CLEAR in Atlanta and even though the system has been operating without publicity for about seven weeks.Today Clearwire Corporation launched its CLEAR WiMAX mobile Internet service in Las Vegas, making it the third Clearwire market to use wireless broadband infrastructure and devices provided by the Home & Networks Mobility business of Motorola.
The Las Vegas area is served by more than 300 cell sites utilizing Motorola’s WAP 400 Diversity Access Point product. The WAP 400 uses tower top power amplifiers linked to a fiber optic cable, with the base control unit housed in a small outdoor cabinet at the bottom of the tower. This creates a very compact cell site configuration, significantly smaller than traditional cellular infrastructure products.
