Yota-Microsoft Received GTB Innovation Awards 2009 in Broadband Services Innovation
On June 16th, 2009 Global Telecoms Business Magazine honored Yota and Microsoft the GTB Innovation Awards 2009 in Broadband Services Innovation.
The GTB Innovation Awards 2009 are designed to honor innovative projects involving telecoms operators and service providers around the world, in association with their vendors and suppliers.
This year Yota and Microsoft have been applauded as the first choice in the broadband services innovation category for Mobile WiMAX phone and video service they managed together.
The Mobile WiMAX phone is HTC MAX 4G, the first GSM+WiMAX phone with the operating system Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.The Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional provides user an easy access to the same application that they use in their home and office computers.Now all the power of computers fit in the palm of their hand!
HTC MAX 4G with Windows 6.1 Professional and Yota service become a key to the world of high-tech entertainment. Yota Music, Yota Video, Yota TV, Yap-Yap (the social networks and blogging) — all available on a new level.
“This project stood out, even though the competition was strong, and it just had to be one of the winners. Well done to all involved,” said Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business.
Microsoft was little shy of emphasizing that the award reflected its continuous commitment to driving and investing in innovation.
“We would like to thank Global Telecoms Business for acknowledging the innovative combined Yota-Microsoft solution. Such recognition is a testament to our innovation development and evidence of leadership in the Russian and CIS markets,” revealed Andrew Lund, director, CEE/CIS Communications Sector, Microsoft.
Dennis Sverdlov, CEO of Yota, who recently demonstrated the new 3.5GHz Intel WiMAX notebook, added, “We are delighted to have received this prize with our partner Microsoft. It is a real recognition of Yota’s commitment to continuous innovation.”
