ECS Showcased ECS U170/U171 WiMAX/GSM Dongle Phones at Computex 2009

Last April ECS U170 eMAX WiMAX phone with USB modem port spotted at CTIA 2009, now you can see ECS U170/U171 WiMAX/GSM Dongle Phone at ECS’ Booth Hall 4 (TICC) 105 Room, Computex 2009.

  • NAND Flash : 512MB/ROM
  • Dimension (LxWxH,mm) : 80×37.7×15mm
  • Weight(g) : 65g
  • Camera : 2.0 Mega pixel
  • Interface : USB/ SIM slot/ Audio jack
  • Communication : EDGE/WiMAX Dual mode
  • Display : 1.77 inches TFT LCD
  • GSM Band : 850/900/1800/1900MHz
  • GPRS/EDGE : Class B, Multislot class 12
  • WiMAX Network : 2.5GHz (802.16e)
  • WiMAX security : Support for SIM and ID LockOS
  • Supported : Windows XP / Vista

No word about price and availability.Apparently it will be cheaper than another dual function WiMAX smartphones such as HTC MAX 4G and Samsung SCH-M830.

This phone has USB port so you can plug into notebook or desktop, connect to WiMAX network and browse the internet.

It seems Tatung InfoComm which the first WiMAX Taiwan service will provide ECS U170/U171 as their WiMAX/GSM dongle phone.
