NEDA Telecommunications Provide WiMAX in Kabul,Afghanistan
I think most of us don’t recognize where Kabul locate in the world.Kabul is the capital and largest city of Afghanistan. We probably ever heard about Afghanistan. Still didn’t get any idea ? Maybe you can remember this story,Sharbat Gula is an Afghan woman of Pashtun ethnicity.
She was forced to leave her home in Afghanistan during the Soviet war for a refugee camp in Pakistan where she was photographed by journalist Steve McCurry. The image brought her recognition when it was featured on the cover of the June 1985 issue of National Geographic Magazine, at a time when she was approximately 13 years old. Gula was known throughout the world simply as the Afghan Girl until she was formally identified in early 2002.

I believe you can remember her
Afghanistan is a landlocked and mountainous country in South-Central Asia, with plains in the north and southwest. The only city in Afghanistan with over one million residents is its capital, Kabul.

In 2004, Airspan made an agreement with NEDA Telecommunications to deploy 3.4GHz WiMAX in Kabul. NEDA Telecommunications is an Afghanistan based ISP offering regular dial up as well WiMAX service in Kabul.NEDA is a subsidiary of Aspen Wind Corp., a U.S.-based trade and finance company with offices in New York, London and Moscow.
Under its contract with NEDA, Airspan has delivered base stations and related subscriber packet radios for deployment in Kabul. Broadband wireless will relay bandwidth throughout Kabul’s highly mountainous terrain.
NEDA utilize both indoor and outdoor CPE from Airspan. The EasyST is an all-indoor CPE designed for self-install by the end user

whereas the ProST is a part indoor- part outdoor CPE which requires professional installation and provides superior link budget in difficult deployment conditions.

Apparently this is NATO’s funded project called Silk Highway which aims to bring high speed internet to Afghanistan.
