Clearwire Signs Agreement With Two Taiwan WiMAX Licensees

Clearwire is extending its reach into Taiwan. The company has signed a MOU with Vee Telecom Multimedia to provide consultancy services as Vee Telecom deploys its network and shortens its time to market in Taiwan.
In addition, it has agreed to cooperate on roaming, technology and digital content with Global Mobile Corp., another Taiwanese WiMAX operator.
“Clearwire will provide the expertise and the experience it has gained from the rollout of its own US and European-based WiMAX operations,” Clearwire president Barry West said in Taipei.
Also West said “no cash investment” would be involved in the cooperation, but intellectual transfers may take place.

Global Mobile awarded WiMAX licensee in North area and Vee Telecom in South Area,both plan to launch their WiMAX services in Q4 2009.
