Nexcom-Bulgaria Announced the Official Launch of its WiMAX Services in Veliko Turnovo

Nexcom-Bulgaria LLC announced the official launch of its WiMAX services in the city of Veliko Turnovo. The city, which served as the Bulgarian capital in the middle ages, has now been offered high-speed internet and fixed telephony via Nexcom’s own WiMAX network. The deployment of the new WiMAX base stations was celebrated at a special event at the Rachev Hotel Boliarski, attended by business and media representatives from Veliko Turnovo.
Nexcom used the event to demonstrate to its guests how the wireless technology and all the services provided through it operate. The company made it possible for all the attendants to acquaint themselves personally with the quality of service and the benefits of non-cable communications.

While covering only 10 cities in the beginning of 2008, currently the WiMAX network of Nexcom has been expanded to a total of more than 30 larger and smaller towns and villages, and 50% of the country’s population is now able to take advantage of the company’s services. In the past several months, Nexcom succeeded in covering the entire southern Black Sea coast, as well as cities like Kurdjali, Sliven, Vratsa and Dobrich. The company secured Internet access to all the inhabitants and the large flow of tourists that come each year to the village of Madara, where the national landmark of Bulgaria – the Madara Horseman rock sculpture – is situated.
