Digifriends-NextWave M3 WiMAX MID Expected to Debut in 2H 2009

WiMAX deployment around the world will accelerate by join partnership between Digifriends Co.Ltd,one of Korea’s leading mobile WiMAX and portable multimedia device makers and NextWave Wireless Inc.,a global provider of wireless broadband and mobile multimedia products.
Today they announced development of WiMAX-enabled MID -the M3- powered by NextWave’s NW2000 WiMAX chipset.The same next generation “no compromise” WiMAX chipset being used in the dmedia G400.
Digifriend M3 was designed to deliver outstanding performance of bandwidth-intensive mobile multimedia applications, including advanced gaming, streaming video of user-generated content, video conferencing/chat, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and, where supported by operators, NextWave’s MXtv(TM) mobile broadcast over WiMAX feature.

The spesification of the Digifriends M3 MID include: Powered by Intel Silverthorne 1.2 GHZ, 4.8″ Touchscreen 1024×600 resoluton display,1GB DDR2 of RAM, 1.3-inch hard disk driveĀ either 30 or 60GB, and two built-in digital cameras – a 2MP camera for capturing still images and a 0.3MP Webcam on the screen side – empowering users with mobile video chat functionality.Wireless conectivity range 802.16e mobile WiMAX 2.3-2.5GHz,WiBro (KT),802.11b/g Wi-fi,Bluetooth ver.2.0 EDR.
Also Digifriends M3 offers a number of distinctive optional accessories, including a QWERTY keyboard (extension battery include),GPS navigation,stand (battery charger include),HI-Fi stereo speaker and UCC editor,to further extend WiMAX-powered service opportunities.
